Meeting Challenges Head On
The green roof system was a late in the game decision and required a lightweight system that met the stormwater requirements to avoid an over-budget underground stormwater detention. The Living Roofs construction team installed a rock mineral wool and engineered soil system and wrapped things up with irrigation and plantings. Working around existing rooftop utilities can be tricky-- fortunately for the client, this is where our skills shine.

Plant Selection and Design
Our design team had their work cut out for them on this project, working with less-than-ideal soil depths in a region of intense summer heat and periods of drought. Digging into their collective knowledge and extensive experience in rooftop growing conditions and plant selection, they developed a plant list that continues to thrive.

A Commitment to Care
In addition to the specialized routine care of the green roofs, our Care & Maintenance team has carefully cultivated this plant community, introducing new species for groundcover and creating a rooftop ecosystem which will continue to thrive.
